This traffic light helps to change user behavior and limits speeding. These lights, when in red mode, have been legalized in all common sections since April 9, 2021. That is, outside intersections and pedestrian crossings.
Behavioral Traffic Light TYPE 1
UPSTREAM WARNING + 200 MM BEHAVIORAL TRAFFIC LIGHT CONTROLLED BY A DOPPLER RADAR
The behavioral traffic light defaults to red, and when a vehicle is detected below the authorized speed limit, the light turns green. The light is controlled by a Doppler sensor, which utilizes a speed detection system to calculate the speed of approaching drivers towards the reward light.
Its operation relies on a Doppler radar placed at the level of the intelligent traffic light.
The vehicle detection distance can be set from 50 to 80 meters, and the speed is measurable from 5 to 255 km/h, with a measurement accuracy of plus or minus 1 kilometer.
For this type of reward light, a warning sign A17 is placed upstream of the area to alert motorists to the presence of this light.
This traffic sign is often complemented by an M1 auxiliary sign to indicate the distance to the red light. Or by an M9Z2B auxiliary sign indicating “speed respected = green light”.

TYPE 2 Behavioral Traffic Light
UPSTREAM WARNING + EDUCATIONAL RADAR CONTROLLING 200 MM DIAMETER TRAFFIC LIGHT
Similar to the type 1 traffic light, the type 2 traffic signal is a multiple-color traffic light. However, its operation is linked to the detection of excessive speed by an educational radar.
Therefore, for this type of installation, an A17 warning sign is placed upstream of the danger zone. It is complemented by an auxiliary sign “100 m” indicating the distance to the light. Additionally, it can be announced by an auxiliary sign indicating “speed respected = green light”.
These two signs are available in our INNOV or TRADITION ranges.

Downstream from the A17 sign is the educational radar controlling the multiple-color 200 mm diameter traffic light.
The educational radar also has an anti-speeding effect. It has the capability to collect and utilize statistics in both directions of traffic flow. This data can be accessed via PC, smartphone, or tablet.
The educational radar detects the speed of users using a Doppler system and continuously measures their speed. Additionally, the vehicle detection distance can be set from 50 to 150 meters, and the measurable speed range is from 5 to 255 km/h, with a measurement accuracy of plus or minus 1 km/h.
